According to the warning in the republished manga magazine, on July 5th this year, “a rift will open beneath the seabed between Japan and the Philippines, causing waves three times higher than those of the Tohoku earthquake to rise on the coast.”
Tokyo: Japanese manga artist Ryo Tatsuoki, known as the “new avatar of Baba Vanga,” has made a prediction that has caused deep concern in Japan and several parts of Asia. This prophecy has led to a drastic 83 percent drop in flight bookings from Hong Kong to Japan between late June and early July. Tatsuoki, who previously accurately predicted the COVID-19 pandemic, claims in her manga book “The Future I Saw” that a major disaster will strike Japan on July 5th. The warning clearly states, “A major catastrophe will occur in Japan.”

Details of Ryo Tatsuoki’s warning
According to the warning in the republished manga magazine, on July 5th this year, “a rift will open beneath the seabed between Japan and the Philippines, causing waves three times higher than those of the Tohoku earthquake to rise on the coast.” As a direct consequence of this prediction, Hong Kong Airlines has suspended its flights to southern Japanese cities like Kagoshima and Kumamoto for July and August, primarily due to a significant decline in demand associated with the tsunami/earthquake prediction.
Traveler Bookings to Japan canceled
According to a Bloomberg Intelligence report, as the predicted date approaches, flight bookings from Hong Kong have fallen by 50 percent compared to last year. Regional airlines, especially those operating Boeing aircraft, have seen a 15-20 percent increase in cancellations. A travel agency in Hong Kong reported that bookings for the spring holidays in April and May were half of what they were last year. Many travelers are canceling or postponing their existing bookings due to this unsettling prediction.
Decline in Number of Travelers to Japan
The Guardian reports that the Japanese cherry blossom viewing season and Hong Kong’s Easter holidays are typically times of high travel demand. Despite this, travelers are canceling tickets in large numbers this time. Greater Bay Airlines has expressed surprise at the situation. Hiroki Ito, General Manager of the airline’s Japan office, stated, “We expected about 80 percent of seats to be filled, but actual reservations are only at 40 percent.”
Tatsuoki’s Famous predictions
Miyagi Prefecture Governor Yoshihiro Murai has urged people not to heed rumors and to remain calm. He said, “There is nothing to worry about as Japanese are not fleeing abroad… I hope people will travel by not paying attention to rumors.” Ms. Tatsuoki is known for her previous accurate predictions. She has foretold several major events, including the March 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami, the death of Princess Diana, the passing of Freddie Mercury, and the COVID-19 pandemic. She also claims that a new, deadlier strain of COVID will return in 2030. This latest prediction has created an atmosphere of uncertainty and anxiety among people in Japan and neighboring regions.
